Period length

Number of periods

Professional boxing: 12 for a world title, 10, 8, 6 or 4 on the undercard. MMA: 3, or 5 in the main event.

Break between periods

One minute in boxing, MMA and kickboxing; two in traditional Muay Thai; thirty seconds in wrestling.

Extra time

Golden score in judo, sudden-death round in taekwondo. The IJF golden score has no time limit: choosing “None” leaves it to the referee.
